Just two weeks into my arrival at Le Domaine Musical, I had the pleasure of diving into the nooks and crannies of the shop in search of hidden treasures. Between a few trips to the storage room and some detours past the proudly displayed Model C, the legendary Pinarbox, and those vintage ‘60s guitars tucked away in the back, I could already tell this shop had more than a few stories to tell.
It was during a chat with Gilles, who was sharing a few anecdotes about his many discoveries, that I stumbled upon two imposing cabinets discreetly sitting in the back room. To my surprise, they turned out to be... two Leslie cabinets! One had mysteriously made its way here, and the other had been left behind by a Hammond organ buyer, likely daunted by its sheer size.
Curious and excited, I immediately went to check them out up close. And what a surprise: two iconic models—a Leslie 760 and, most impressively, a fully functional Leslie 122, complete with its Combo PreAmp pedal! These legendary cabinets I had studied for so long during my audio engineering courses were now right in front of me.
With help from Hugo, our luthier, we pulled them out of hiding. He even shared—grinning—a little “Jimi Hendrix moment” from his last test of the 122.
We gave them some well-deserved TLC, photographed them from every angle, and by the next day, they were ready for sale.
With one simple wish: that these two wonders find a new home where they’ll be loved and played once again.
Come by the shop to check them out!
See you soon!
